A Creative Country Exporting Culture To The World
In order to become an influential country in the world, having a strong economy is not enough on its own. A country should be able to produce content in creative arts and carry its culture to the world. Thus, an inter-communal interaction is established and a cross-border effect is achieved.
Being the most modern and advanced country of Eurasia, Turkey has made great progress in the creative content production and export in recent years.
In 2017, the Turkish TV series broke its own record with an export of 300 million dollars. The sector, which has made great investments in both technical field and the cinema and film production in recent years, plans to export content over 1 billion dollars in 2023.
Turkey is right behind the United States in the world in this field. While the television show exports grow 4.5% worldwide every year, this rate is over 20% for Turkey. Turkish TV series and films are enjoyed by hundreds of millions of watchers in 85 countries.
People from all over the world, from Argentina to Morocco, from Bahrain to Bosnia, from Hungary to Iraq, and from Ukraine to Thailand, are introduced to Turkish cuisine, cities, music and culture with the help of exported products. It is clear that the creative industries improve the perception of Turkey in the global arena.
